NITI Aayog & DARPAN Registration

About the Registration

DARPAN Registration refers to registration on the NITI Aayog NGO–DARPAN Portal, which is a centralized database of NGOs and voluntary organizations in India. This registration is essential for NGOs, Trusts, and Societies that wish to apply for government grants, schemes, and funding from Central Ministries and Departments. DARPAN acts as an official identity for NGOs when dealing with government authorities.

Through DARPAN Registration, an organization receives a Unique DARPAN ID, which is mandatory to apply for grants-in-aid and to participate in various government welfare programs. The portal ensures transparency, accountability, and credibility by linking the NGO’s details with PAN, Aadhaar of key office bearers, and organizational information.

To be eligible for DARPAN Registration, the organization must be legally registered as a Trust, Society, or Section 8 Company and should have valid registration documents, PAN details, and active office bearers. Accurate disclosure of objectives, activities, and financial details is required during registration.

DARPAN Registration enhances the visibility of NGOs at the national level and strengthens trust between NGOs and government institutions. It is often a pre-requisite for availing government funding, CSR collaboration, and official recognition. Overall, DARPAN Registration plays a crucial role in integrating NGOs into the government’s development ecosystem while ensuring lawful and transparent functioning.
